Installation, Cleaning & Maintenance
Installation
  • Placement: Set the machine on a stable, flat, non-flammable surface. Floor placement is the standard deployment.
  • Clearance: Maintain at least 10 ft (3 m) of clear space above and around the spray nozzle. Keep people, fabrics, drapes, and decorations outside the spark zone.
  • Loading Granules: Power off the unit, open the top filling lid, pour in the titanium-based granules per the user guide, and reseal the lid before powering on.
  • DMX/Linking: Use 3-pin XLR cables to chain DMX signal. For master-slave, set the host to ID 001 and assign 002+ to follower units.
  • Grounding: The unit must be properly grounded via the PowerCon cable. Never bypass the ground pin.
Cleaning
  • Auto-Clean Cycle: Hold the "Stop" button on the remote for 2 seconds to run the built-in clean cycle (5 seconds, then auto-off). Run after every event.
  • Housing & Nozzle: Wipe the exterior and silicone nozzle with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents.
  • Cooling Fan Grille: Vacuum or dust the rear fan grille periodically to prevent airflow restriction.
Maintenance
  • Cool-Down: Allow the unit to cool fully (10+ minutes) before repacking. The heating element reaches 374°C in operation.
  • Storage: Empty all granules from the filling chamber before storing or transporting the machine.
  • Inspection: Before each event, check that all four status LEDs (Heat, Ready, Fault, DMX) behave normally during power-on.

FAQs

Please read our FAQs page to find out more.

Is this a real flame or pyrotechnic device?

No. This is a cold spark machine — it produces low-temperature sparks (~150°F / 65°C) from heated titanium-based granules. There is no flame, no smoke, no fuel combustion, and no pyrotechnic license required in most jurisdictions.

How close can guests stand to the machine?

Maintain at least 10 ft (3 m) of clear safety distance from the machine and keep the area above the nozzle clear of fabrics, drapery, and low ceilings.

Can I daisy-chain multiple machines together?

Yes. Up to 30 units can be linked in master-slave mode (host = ID 001, slaves = 002+) with a default 0.2-second firing interval between units. PowerCon and XLR DMX in/out are also supported for chaining.

Can I use this outdoors?

This machine is designed for indoor use. Wind disrupts the spark plume, and moisture can damage the heating element and electronics. Sheltered outdoor use under a tent may be acceptable in calm, dry conditions — use at your own discretion.
